Kara is a strategic registered dietitian and public administration professional committed to providing the best possible meals to communities. She comes to Chef2Home from Penn State University, where she served as a Senior Project Manager for three years. In just three years, she dreamt, strategized, implemented, and led a team to create a wellness program across 11 Penn State campuses and 22 Penn State Health sites.
In addition to her experience working with schools and higher education, she has spent five years working with Boy Scouts of America to implement an obesity prevention program, improving meals at more than 50 camps across 26 states, and creating supportive nutrition environments using food psychology and guerrilla warfare techniques. Kara has published articles in Preventative Medicine and JMIR and has been featured in more than a dozen news outlets, including local television stations and US World News and Reports on multiple occasions.

She holds a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from Messiah University and a Master of Public Administration in Human Resources Management and Services from Penn State University.
